Rainbows End

Last friday the year 7 went to rainbows end i felt scared and like my friend i had a feeling i was going to puke but in the end i didn’t. First we had a meeting of what to do and what not to do but of course we had to show SWALL (Show what awesome looks like.) Once we got there we had to wait because we weren't the only school. Then we waited and waited then a lady came up to put the band on a then it was time to have fun. Our group was Me, Izac, Dartanian, Iti, Shelford and our group leader was my cousin La.

Our first ride was the pirate ship and my friend was screaming like a baby’s i only screamed

when we went high and i felt like i was going to puke. Our next ride was FEAR FALL which i did not want to go on but it happened when we went up it wasn’t that scary. But when we stayed up 18 stores(548.64cm) i was freaked out but then i heard a clink and i knew we were going to drop. When we dropped i couldn’t even feel my body and i felt like i was a dog.

Next was the motion master which wasn't really a ride i was like a cinema and we also had 3D glasses. When we went on i wasn’t really scared because my friend ruined it and told us what was going to happen. But he didn’t know that it changed so when we went in and he sat down acting like he was the man. So i said “Ok you can sit next to me” so he did so we watched it. Afterwards i heard him screaming because he hasn't seen the new one but i have, the loudest scream he did was when the loch ness monster popped out and it looked like he was having a heart attack.

Bumper cars was the second best ride because you could just bump anyone of and speed and not get a ticket for speeding. I bumped of my parent helper and then our group come to get me and bully me. It was really funny even though i got bullied i still had heaps of fun but i didn’t enjoy my head getting banged all over the place.

A Time With Freinds

On Friday Mrs Tele’a Said “Don’t forget to bring your PE shirt on tuseday because we are going to do fun stuff”, But she didn’t tell us why they were doing this. When it came to the day i didn’t know what we were going to do. After resse our teachers told us to come inside and get changed into our pe gear. We did but it took me quite a while to get ready. But i'm going to skip all the stuff that the teachers talk to us about and move on to the fun stuff.

My group were boys i used to hang out Izac(The leader), Night, Jordan S and Dartanian that was absent on the day. But we still heaps of fun without. But anyway we first went to brain teazer our brainiac. With the teacher Mrs Fumatu the questions they gave us were really hard like.(Name and ancient  invention, that people still use in these days that allows you to see through wall) and i was like easy it an x ray but i got it Incorrect. So i freaked out because we only had 10 seconds than i realized windows help you see through was and i was correct.

The next activity was the Photo Booth where we had to talk photos obviously but more important is that so we don’t get all shy and start giggling and no it was more about your looks don’t matter. Mrs tele’a walked over to us to take a photo and i think Izac could be a next top model. We had to take a happy, serious, crazy and creative photo and all i did was stand and only smile in one. But my group was really cool because when Jordan S put the tutu around his face he looked like a lizard that was about to strike on the serious photo. The Photo booth was taking by the beautiful Mrs Tele’a

After that was cookie as we all know you have to put the cookie on your forehead and try and get it into your mouth which was very very. challenging for me and because i didn’t like those so when i caught it in my mouth i pretend to eat it. But it suddenly went down my throat and i felt like i was going to vomit. But the game was very hard because you have to use the muscle in side your head like your eyebrows. But when our cookie would fall on the floor would have to keep doing it. But i didn’t care 10 second rule.

And last but not least was the pea pipe when you had to suck up peas(doesn't that sound weird to you) But anyway who cares about the name. It was just another cool game you had to suck a pea up with a straw and put it into a bowl which was very hard because the desk looked very far. But was actually very close it like i was running 2km but going nowhere as far as that. After 4 rounds of doing that i was very tired but i didn’t give up. After all of that very very hard stuff (to me) we finally came to the end of that very long long run. And we ended up coming second for the pea pipe game. Then it was time to pack up and go on our daily run.

The New Zealand Royal Navy Band.

As we walked into the hall we saw the new Zealand royal navy band come to our school. Sitting and everyone in our school was very excited we couldn't even stop talking about how awesome it was. We sat down and we knew we were going to hear jazz and other lovely music. But we didn't know what music they were going to play. We first did what we do for every assembly we sit down say our pray and then someone comes out to say their mihi. Then after all of that was done the show was going to begin.

As we were sitting down a man came out to say that they were going to play movie themes first they the very famous song (i think) star wars. Next was spongebob and other songs but i didn’t know some of them. Next was a dedication to the ANZAC soldiers that died years ago and a poem that John McCrae made up so that we will always remember them. After that was songs like Katy Perry Roar and the very last song was Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. But my highlight was the people that played the drums like Mr Garden. In the end my legs were very sore but we were luck because the one and only new Zealand royal navy band came to our school.

Superman Adaptation

History of Superman...
man of underwear or blue underwear? Why did it change? Because wearing blue underwear didn't make him look strong but when her wore red underwear he looked strong and has more style.
Krypton - what is it? Krypton was a large habitable planet where superman (Kent Clark) was born but not raised.
Why was it important to Superman?  Because of where superman was born.
What part did Superman's parents have in his survival? They sent him from krypton to earth because krypton was going to blow up and they risked there life for his.
Original powers? Did he fly in the beginning? He did not have the ability to fly he only knew how to do super jump.
What changed in term of his super powers? Super man started from super jump but in 2015 he has flying, laser eyes ect.
Daily planet - his does he adapt between his human workplace and being a superhero? When Kent Clark is an human he changes his posture but when he is Super man he stands up straight and uses a deeper voice.

This movie is about The History of Superman. People made superman by using other heroes such as Hercules, Moses, Samson and Buck Rogers. But in this year (2015) people make new heroes by using superman, Hulk, Captain America (etc.) So now i ask why did people stop thinking about Moses, Samson and Hercules and start making heroes new heroes from Super man ect.

Toma Immersion Assembly Term 4

As the year 7&8’s walked through the door we saw Mr Burt dressed up in an outfit with a fake parrot on his head and massive glasses. As we went to sit down we saw other teacher coming in with crazy outfits. As we sat their Mr Burt made a movie of the Fiapoko Parrot “Mr Burt” from Pt. Dingaling who always said “I'm the business” and it kept being a musinces to the kids “Ana,Jordan s and Jalen.” They called the Fiapoko parrot hunter “Mr Burt again” to come and hunt it down. After it was no longer alive the Fiapoko parrot hunter cooked it in the oven and they ate it.

After the video was finished Mr Burt said “It is time for team 1” Mrs George walked in front of the school to say that it was short but then Mrs King jumped and said “Is that it Mrs George.” So Mrs George said “ok we will have a karaoke are you ok with that now Mrs King.” The mysterious song was Roar by Katy Perry after the song was finished we had to clap and scream to pick the winner. After making my head saw from all the screaming they finally made a decision the winner was Marika Mrs king's daughter then Mrs George told us what they were learning about, they are learning about

As we clapped Mr Burt called out another team it was time for team 2. Team 2 are learning about dinosaurs. A movie showed up on the screen with a video of a dinosaur and a person was singing a song song and it was saying “One of the biggest dinosaur’s was the brachiosaurus” and that all i heard. And the rest of team 2’s video i did,not get but all i know is that they are learning about dinosaurs. After that very very weird video Mrs Nalda walked out and said “You should already know that team 2 is learning about Dinosaurs and then Barney came and some people hugged him.

Another team was being called it was team 3.Mrs King said they have made up dinosaurs the made up dinosaurs that the teacher made up was Discosaurs,Bossyraptor, strongosaur and Manosaurs (I don’t know the rest of the names) in the video It had all the team 3 teachers dancing on a movie. Then Mrs King came out to say “This term team 3 is also learning about dinosaurs but we are making up our own dinosaurs.”

Team 4 was being called as we clapped Mr Goodwin walked saying that she took some people on a safari tour but they didn't know where they were but they had to guess where they are but they weren't really their. One was underwater and the others were in the Forest with the gorilla, with a snake somewhere. Then team mr wiseman stepped up to talk about adaptation then after seeing them eat noodles it was all finished. Then we went back to class to do some learing.

Toma Thinkboard

Triangle Addition

Today we had been given the new task of finishing a Google drawing by trying to fill in blocks and add it to get our final number witch is 3.518. In each line of squares there is either one or two squares are already filled, we have to leave that  there and use that number to go to 3.518. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

Toma Thinkboard

Toma Future Aspiration

On Wednesday the 20th of May 2015 two famous people Marcus Winter who is also known as The Sandman, Louis Gordon Latty who is the founder of Glory League and Andrew Patterson visited the Year 7&8s and Pt England School and they were all talking about how to influence the world. Andrew Paterson came up to talk about how to show awesome and other quotes, we also made up our own quote for the year 7&8 it is called S.W.A.L.L which means Show What Awesome Looks Like. Witch also relates Andrew Patterson quote.

Image result for marcus winter sand artThey were chatting to us about in life you don't have to copy each other and Marcus Winter told us that when he was young he was very slow at handwriting and he thought that he was brainy because he was in the extension class, but when he left primary he found out that the extension class was for the kids who are slow and need to catch up. He also told us "If you get bounced - bounce back." I thought that was a very inspirational quote and I was very inspired by his choice of words. Marcus told us that if you have your mind set on something you will accomplish that in life, and he also told us he actually visioned himself performing street art with sand and he completed that but then he thought of something better like performing on stage so he signed up for lots of chances on stage but he always got bounced. Marcus never gave up and eventually he got a chance to perform on stage. He started performing on cruise ships and earlier this year he went to Australia and ended up performing on cruise ships. He told us to have a clear end in mind. Marcus inspired me alot and after his brilliant speech I wanted to learn how to do sand art.
Which i would never learn

Then the founder of Glory League Louis Gordon Latty told us that he loved playing basketball even before he was five years old he was good at basketball. He told us about a invention he made that involves an ipad. This invention was made to record the whole game so they all wanted to feel like they were in the NBA. And it was also made to make people feel proud and passionate about themselves. How it works, well it works when the judges press a button then then ipad starts recording, and it stops when the judges press another button and then the ipad sends an email to everyone who was playing basketball. After Louis finished talking Mr Burt asked us if we wanted to use this device and the majority of the year 7&8 said of course.
Andrew Patterson was a very nice man and he also visited our school before and he taught us how to project our voice without shouting. He said he would remember you if you went up and talked to him and in the future he might take you somewhere. Andrew was the one who brought Marcus Winter and Louis Gordon Latty to our school. He said a lot of quotes and they were very inspirational. Some of the quotes were: Do more of what makes you Awesome!!!! I found out that you don't remember what people said, you don't remember what they did but you do remember how they made you feel!!!! Yesterday was very inspirational and I loved meeting Marcus Winter, Louis Gordon Latty and Andrew Patterson .

Toma Leter to Jim O' Dwyer and Eric Henry

I am back with another responding to a letter from WW2 but it's not kind of like a text. Watch the movie below to listen to the two soldiers. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment. Here is my response. I also learnt that in WW2 they shot their little brothers in the leg to send them home.

Dear  Jim O’Dwyer and Eric Henry,
My name is Toma and I am a Year 7 student from Point England School . I am writing to you to express my gratitude for what you have done for our country and people, during WW2. You have fought for our country to protect it.
I understand that you want your family to be safe and to have responsibilities as the eldest brother. I am glad you have a smart brain that to instead punch the other soldiers head and blaming it on your little brother instead of shooting them on the leg. I heard entertainment was top on the list, good to see you people taking an active role in it.

I thank you for fighting for our country. I feel what you have done to your little brother was right. One thing I still don’t know, did your brother came back home and, We will always remember you.

Your sinserley

Toma First World War Mascots

A Letter To Gustav

Toma130 PT England School

Dear Gustav

Malo Lelei Gustav, My name is Toma, Recently i have heard that you were not allowed to fight in the war all because you had a German background. Burt you we really born in Tonga, And i also feel sorry for how they treated and hurt you like that. It was not fair that you had been taken away from Tonga, your wife and your children and that is why i am writing this letter.

I am really sorry the way that New Zealand treated you i think that you really should have thought in World War 2. I also know that your were in a freezing place near Wellington called Somme. You must have been really cold rubbing your leg with your hand and moving your feet around because it was cold. You must have wanted to leave the minute you got there or even the second you got there.

I feel really sad that your father died when you were so little. I am sorry for what you went through. When you were born in Tonga you must of loved hanging out with your friends and family, but I am really sorry that you could not go back  to Tonga. Im also sorry that it was a big mistake to move to Germany even though you could not speak German. It is amazing that your mother is part Irish, she must of had an awesome accent. I would hate to be in Germany when I was little because Germans were really hard on children 75 years ago.

You must have been really sad that you got taken away from Tonga form your kids your family and your children it must have been really difficult just to leave them there just like that. Your wife and kids would have missed you like crazy the time your were going through that tough time. I do have a question though if you could be born and raised in the whole universe where would it be and why, well that is all for now.

Yours Sincerely/FaithfullyToma

Toma Best School Day Ever

Aue Hi!!!", as i imaged the day we had our 2014 Fia Fia and then i wake up from that and Year 7&8 for the first time in history in Aotearoa thanks to Mrs Tele’a the year 7&8 got to go to the Polyfest CHE-HOO-OOO as i shouted with joy in my head. The year 7&8s loading up to four buses jumping up and down on the four buses well i dont know if the other buses did that but we did. Waiting impatiently to get to the polyfest and me basically eating my Rashuns on the bus secretly
without my teacher even knowing.

The best highlight in the world was actually even getting to go to the polyfest cause actually the parents could actually be going to work but they took a day of the help us. The 2nd highlight was getting to hit the ball as fast as you can but the technique i used was wrong so mine was actually WOH WOH WOHHH. 3rd was getting to take a photo with My Group but sadly i didn't get to keep it cause one of the members in my group ripped it up and i never got to see it again.

Next year i can not wait to go to the polyfest once again.

Mrs Telea's Birthday

It was Mrs Telea’s 40th birthday we snuck into the street and it never look suspicious then as Hannah turned the music on the boys shouting out, “CHOO-HOO-HOO”, as we were dancing around Mrs Tele’a in a circle it was awesome. Mrs Telea’s literacy class dancing to the Samoan song but sadly Mrs Tele’a actuality home class did not come out to dance. We had boys jumping of tables Miss Peato dancing with Mrs Tele’a. All the boys looked like warriors but we were gentle at the same time. As me and my friend Jordan were dancing we saw Mr Wiseman running out trying to mimic Mrs Tele’a dance.

As we danced we saw Miss Peato lying on the ground slapping the ground in my head i was like, “What is she doing?” Then Mrs Tele’a gathering her skirt putting her leg on Miss Peatos back. Sadly Mrs Moala and Miss Clark did not want to dance but they recorded it so it was good enough for me. Mr Wiseman mimicking Mrs Tele’a but it was way too hard for him. We were very energetic as the actually Samos not dancing when the Maoris and Tongas were dancing i saw the Samoas just standing there in the corner just laughing.

It will be a sight that i know that i will never ever see again.

Whanau Time/Family, The Best Time Of My LIfe

Wake up Wake up”, Shouted my sister, I looked at my calendar today was day we got out of the house for our first ever. I put on my close at then my dad said “come on we don’t want to be late”, I rushed into the sitting room and then, my mum and dad shouted, “But first we have to put our stuff in the car”, and then that when the smile turned upside down, “Come on Toma there is not that much”, whispered my Mum, I walk in to the room and then piles of bags right in my face three almost even crushed me.

I went to go have my breakfast I could not wait to have our family reunion and then i walked into the room and, “Hey Mum wheres the bags gone”, she replied, “Your brothers put them all out side.” My Heart was pounding we all had a shower and we got ready. We jumped in the car we were all excited and then, “Toma can you and your older siblings wait”, Shouted my dad, “Ok”, we all replied. We waited and waited and waited for almost 20 minutes and my papa's house was only up  and then right and it was close. Then we saw the headlights and it was not our car,
We saw our car and we all shouted and my sister screamed and we felt like we were going to get deaf.

We got there and we all went inside the marie and when we walked in it was so big that if climbed up on the roof my whole whanau aunties and uncles would be like tiny ants but i would never want to go up there. I wanted to but I couldn't because I would get the growling of a lifetime i would have never forgot about it. “Yo pass Toma pass”, shouted my brother, “Ok”, I passed it but obviously I couldn't pass well so the ball landed in this green water, “I'm not getting the by”, I giggled, “Oh yes you are”, My cousin said, “Ok.” I didn’t know there was water so i went down and I jumped in and then Splat weo weo weooo, “Our icky sticky gross stuff”, “hahahahahahahahaha”, I ran to my Mum and Dad, “The got my all dressed up and showed me did my hair.”

Because we were going for the longest walk ever It was to the lighthouse but it was an awesome experience. Because we even got our very own t shirts that said, Wairere and another t shirt and singlet that Taivero Timmy Charlie. I put my singlet on straight away when everyone else put on the lame one. We walked up to the lighthouse i touched it. 2 hours after that, “Come on were all going for a swim.” I felt something pinch me under the water it was my cousin Big Mac but all the back there were the most biggest wave i have ever seen.

It was time to say goodbye to the placed we all loved the most. We still wonder at night if we will be able to go back to Te Hapua and have another time of our lives. In the end It was the best experiences that i have ever had in my entire 11 years of my life and my whanau life as well.

Holiday Highlight

It’s christmas time”, we sat down and had the most delicious breakfast ever bacon and eggs with some of the nicest hot chocolate in the whole world. Or we could some of our family favourite:Puawais spaghetti and meatballs she makes the most delicious meatballs of all eternity. I quickly ate the spaghetti and meatballs because i really wanted some more. 2 hours after that we went outside to play games after woulds we came inside to open up our presents. The big kids got 2 lottery tickets and the little ones got money and chocolate. All the boys got lego but out of all the things we had the best one was to spend christmas time with my whole family. When they all came over we had the most delicious hangai i have ever had. My sister puawai was eating almost 5 to 6 plates maybe even 7.  The sun was going and the best highlight of my holiday was slowly fading away.

Nehhh” we saw the horses running and running my sister said, “There running as the speed of light”, shouting in my ear, then I shouted, “No THERE NOT BECAUSE THEY CAN’T!!!!!”, then we saw a baby merry go round but it was so relaxing so i decided to jump on it and it felt like a massage. Soon after we went home to go watch tv we were meant to go home but my papa was way to tired to do that, and my auntie she just can't drive at all like my mum. My uncle yelled out, “Toma, Puawai, Hilda get in here for mcdonalds and ice cream”, we massage his foot because we is a black belt in the last few days he had a fight and he beat the guy up like a little stick. In the twinkling of an eye he said, “Finished lets go”, we had choc bar, mcdonald's and it was the highlight of the day.

Makes 2 dozen

10 ounces marshmallows (4 cups mini marshmallows)
6 cups Rice Krispies
1.  Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2.  Add cereal and stir until well coated.
3.  Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 9 x 13 inch pan coated with cooking spray.
